The Repair Shop is coming to Leeds Photographic Society

There’s a TV programme where people bring in broken toys, dusty one-eyed teddies eyes and all sorts of precious stuff needing a bit of TLC. Do you have any pictures that you love but feel might be capable of improvement or repair? Let our team of repairers have a go at them and see how they go about the job. If you wish you can submit them anonymously although it would be lovely if you could introduce them and say what you want to achieve. I need around 10-12 pictures from as many of you as dare. Please send them to me via www.wetransfer.com and let me know your thoughts about the picture. Can you please let me have two pictures, the original full sized straight out of camera and your edited version. Deadline: 25 May

New speaker for October

The bad news is that Colin and Chrissie Westgate have had to pull out of our meeting on October 5th for personal reasons. The good news is that I have booked Valery Mather to replace them. Valery is an excellent ‘people’ photographer who lives near Wetherby. Have a look at her website for a taste of her work https://www.valeriematherphotography.co.uk. She has just published a new book ‘Yorkshire Born & Bred Farming Life’ – so it should be just up our street.

Summer Project

Don’t forget our Summer Project,– July 13th is the opportunity for you to present your images on the theme of ‘Farewell Winter’ for a non-competitive discussion by us all. Did you get cracking on 20 March? Don’t worry, plenty of time so let’s see how well you express your thoughts and feelings that have touched your hearts as winter departs. Themed competitionsNow we can get out and about, make a note of our themed competitions for next Season and start snapping.

Monty Trent

I have been addicted to photography for more than 20 years, after mentors re-ignited a candle snuffed out years previously. I am climbing a downwards escalator trying to learn how to improve my camera and editing skills to express my soul on a piece of paper. Silly me! But what joy!!
